Academic Advisor

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our Continuing Education Online Training Program. In this role, you will provide guidance and support to adult learners pursuing professional development and skill enhancement through our online courses. Your expertise will help students navigate their educational journeys, ensuring they achieve their academic and career goals.

This role is full-time, 40 hours per week M-F.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Assist students in understanding program requirements, course selection, and academic policies. Provide personalized academic advising to help them create effective learning plans.
  • Enrollment and Retention: Support prospective and current students through the enrollment process, fostering a supportive environment to enhance retention rates.
  • Program Development: Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to develop and improve online training programs based on student feedback and industry trends.
  • Workshops and Resources: Organize and facilitate workshops, webinars, and informational sessions on academic success strategies, career planning, and professional development.
  • Monitoring Progress: Track and monitor students’ academic performance and progress towards their goals, providing timely intervention and support when needed.
  • Database Management: Maintain accurate records of student interactions, academic progress, and program outcomes in the student information system.
  • Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for students, providing timely responses to inquiries via email, phone, and online platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (i.e. completion of NCLab training)
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and the unique needs of non-traditional students.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in using student information systems, online learning platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, remote environment.
