Trainees Love To Learn By Doing

  • Trainees learn on their own schedule, not on someone else’s schedule
  • Exercises build competency, confidence, and a feeling of accomplishment
  • Realtime AI-based contextual assistance is available, whenever needed
  • Each trainee is assigned a personal instructor for guidance and support
  • Trainees are fully qualified and job-ready, when they graduate

Our Learning-By-Doing Makes Trainees Job-Ready.

Trainees learn through short bite-sized lessons that are followed by practical exercises that confirm that they have not only understood the lessons but that they have put their new knowledge into practice.

An Artificial Intelligence-based platform oversees trainees working through exercises and helps them with contextual help in the form of hints and templates, when needed. A personally assigned instructor is also there for each trainee, to provide guidance and support.

NCLab learn-by-doing training is only possible because each of the courses has taken thousands of hours to build and because the courses are presented through a powerful Artificial Intelligence-based Learn-By-Doing platform.

As evidence of the effectiveness of this training method, a tier 1 university math professor who had been lecturing an advanced Linear Algebra course for 10 years introduced the training using the NCLab’s learn-by-doing platform and students became more engaged, liked the course better, and their average scores improved by 21% over the average scores of previous semesters.

Learning By Doing Has Huge Benefits For Trainees.

To begin with, they can start their training when they’re ready and they learn on their individual schedule. This is particularly attractive for people in the workforce who have to work around their employers’ and family commitments and responsibilities. The training is completely self-paced and allows them to set their own pace and finish on their own timeline.

The acquisition of new knowledge is immediately followed by practical exercises that confirm a full grasp of each new subject matter. Using this approach, there is no need for final exams because the ability to complete the exercises confirms trainees’ grasp of the subject matter.

Exercises are not about dropping trainees at the deep end of the pool and expecting you to swim. Rather, realtime artificial intelligence-based contextual assistance is there to help when help is needed. That help includes analyzing their work and providing guidance, hints, and even templates, as appropriate. A personally assigned instructor is also there for each trainee, to make sure that guidance and help is always available.

When trainees graduate, they are job-ready because they have the knowledge, experience, competency, and confidence needed to qualify for available jobs.

Acquiring Practical Experience In NCLab Training Programs

NCLab’s learn-by-doing training is quite different than other career training programs in which trainees spend the vast majority of their time listening to lectures, reading books, and taking exams rather than practicing what they are learning.

In much the same way that pilots need to get experience flying and not just listen to lectures and read books, Data Analysts and Python Developers need to practice what they are learning during their training in order to be job-ready, upon graduation. Interestingly, while a pilot in training needs a plane to practice flying, Data Analysts and Python Developers in training only need a computer to practice since it is the platform that they will be using when they get a job after their training.

Following are the key attributes of the NCLab career training programs:

Bite-Sized Lessons and Immediate Self-Assessment

Short bite-sized lessons are followed by immediate self-assessment exercises, which ensure that trainees get practice using what they have learned before moving on. Success is assured if they are willing to put in the effort to do the required work.

AI-Based Adaptive Feedback

Artificial Intelligence algorithms allow trainees to learn by doing and to see the results of their problem solving on an immediate basis. In much the same way that an in-person instructor can help an individual trainee that is having difficulty with a new concept, these powerful algorithms help trainees with sophisticated adaptive feedback throughout their learning.

Verified Learning LMS

A built-in Learning Management System records all trainee learning activities and confirms that trainees have thoroughly learned the subject matter and have gathered sufficient Practical Experience to qualify for job openings. The information that the LMS collects helps each trainee’s assigned expert overseer to understand where the trainee is at all times. It also helps course developers identify places where the courses can be improved. Finally, verified learning obviates the need for final exams since the completion of exercises throughout the training is clear evidence of a full grasp of the educational materials.

A Creative Suite Where Trainees Create and Share Portfolio Artifacts

Trainees have access to a powerful Creative Suite, where they can create their own projects and work through them to come up with solutions and save their results for later retrieval and sharing.

What Our Trainees Say About Us

I love my new job!

“My boss encouraged me to take the training and now I’m really glad I did because I’m now doing data analytics work full time.” L.L.

William Jordan Teacher

I tell all my robotic teacher colleagues how great Karel is with introducing students to coding for their robotic classes.

Superb way to learn

“I really enjoyed the online/modular format of this course. The material was presented clearly and concisely and allowed me to focus longer on concepts that were difficult, while glancing over concepts I was already familiar with.” A.C.

This is how I like to learn

“This is how I like to learn, at my own pace. I like the bite-sized tutorials and I feel a real sense of accomplishment when I complete the exercises that follow them.” M.J.

Great training!

“I watched videos, read short tutorials, viewed examples, ran demo programs, and then performed exercises that demonstrated my comprehension of the subject matter.” S.L.

The training is really great!

“Not easy but really informative. Practical experience was what I wanted and I feel that I got it.” F. Z.

The program is great

“I cannot compliment enough any training that involves students actually working on the problems rather than just listening.” A. S.

This class has turned that around…

“I have really enjoyed the course so far, and based on my test score this is the most successful I have been in a math course since high school. I would not call other classes I have had difficult but simply unengaging, and this class has turned that around.” Y. M.

Compliments to the NCLab team

“Please extend my compliments to the NCLab team if you can, and keep advocating for this type of learning, if at the very least as an option for people like me who learn well this way.” F. A.

It’s working well

It might sound weird, but I feel as though it teaches the right parts for Python. When I was learning Python before, there were a lot of steps that felt skipped but are explained now.

I am thoroughly enjoying the class

I feel like I am learning a skill, much more than I felt in other courses. The use of repetition, doing programming in pieces, and the entire way the platform is laid out are far superior to how my university teaches their main, introductory, programming courses. It is too bad that the philosophy of academia is standing in its own way.

I love it!

I feel like I am actually LEARNING how to program, and the chunking method of the material is wonderful.

“I am really enjoying this course and learning python and I also like the way that it teaches the material. I’m very glad I took this course!” R. B.

Large amount of Python programming practice

“I really enjoyed and found the Python Fundamentals and Advanced Python courses incredibly useful. In fact, the large amount of Python programming practice questions in both courses helped me obtain my summer software development internship at Pfizer by preparing me for a variety of programming interview questions.” F. F.
