NCLab Summer Camp 2013

0NEW: The Summer Camp is just days away. Please read updated information here.
On August 7 and 8, 2013 we will welcome 50 K-12 students to UNR College of Science for the 2013 NCLab Programming and 3D CAD Design Summer Camp. The Summer Camp is open to all K-12 students and homeschoolers. Complete beginners as well as experienced NCLab users are welcome. The NCLab Team will be present to provide support and take feedback. If interested in participating, please send us your name, age, grade in school and the name of a teacher who knows about your interest in the subjects of the Camp to support@nclab.com. This is a voluntary and fun activity for genuinely motivated students. Parents – please take that into account. If you already have written an interesting computer program or built a 3D design in NCLab, make sure to attach them to the email. We will get back to you shortly.

Location and Tentative Program

0The Camp will take place in DMS 106 which is the most up-to-date computer classroom at UNR. Parents are expected to drop off their kids latest at 8:45 am in the UNR parking lot adjacent to the DMS building (South-East end of campus). We will be waiting there and walk the kids to the classroom. Preliminary program (same for both days) can be found below. It may still undergo minor changes.

Programming Session I (9:00 – 10:00)
Break (10:00 – 10:30)
Programming Session II (10:30 – 11:30)
Lunch (11:30 – 12:30)
3D Design Session I (12:30 – 1:30)
Break (1:30 – 2:00)
3D Design Session II (2:00 – 3:00)

Come Prepared!

Part of the Camp will be a mini-conference where everyone will be able to present their 3D designs and/or computer programs written in NCLab. Most impressive works, including works created during the Camp, will be collected in a brochure that will be publicized. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your talent, get recognized, and collect useful feedback. Sample 3D designs for motivation can be found in the NCLab Gallery of 3D Designs as well as in the Junior Gallery. Although this is not mandatory, coming to the Camp with prior knowledge will put you on a faster track and allow you to get more out of the event.

Create a Free NCLab Account

0Creating an NCLab account is free but one needs an email address for validation. Kids who do not have their own email often use the email address of their parents. This needs to be done in advance – please have an NCLab account created before the Summer Camp, otherwise you may not be able to participate in the Camp’s activities.

Mandatory Catering Fee

The Summer Camp is free but we request a $30 check to cover lunches and refreshments. No seat will be reserved without receiving this check. This fee is non-refundable. Please do not send checks without being notified of acceptance. Our mailing address is
