What is the NCLab Career Readiness Assessment?

The NCLab Career Readiness Assessment is a free and highly valuable resource that helps your counselors make more informed decisions. By using the assessment, they can better understand their clients and guide them into jobs where they have the greatest potential to succeed.

The Career Readiness Assessment measures individuals’ ability to:

  • Learn quickly

  • Solve problems using newly acquired knowledge

  • Pay attention to detail

  • Think logically through complex situations

  • Persevere and complete challenging tasks

These core capabilities are among the strongest indicators of success in both career training programs and modern workplace environments.

About the NCLab Career Readiness Assessment

  • The assessment takes approximately 1–2 hours to complete. It is best completed in one sitting, though breaks are allowed if needed.

  • The only prerequisites are basic reading ability in English or Spanish and basic computer keyboarding skills.

  • The assessment can be completed on any computer with internet access, including those at home, school, libraries, or workforce centers.

  • Your counselors are provided assessment results immediately after clients complete the assessment.

Individuals Earn A Valuable Digital Badge

Upon completing the assessment, individuals earn a digital badge that recognizes their achievement and showcases their workplace readiness. It’s a credential that individuals proudly share on LinkedIn and with prospective employers to demonstrate that they are quick learners, logical thinkers, strong problem solvers, and have the perseverance to tackle challenging tasks and see them through to completion.

Clients who achieve a qualifying score are also eligible to enroll in NCLab’s STEM Career Training programs. These programs use the same proven, learn-by-doing platform featured in the assessment and are designed to help motivated learners progress from foundational knowledge to career-ready skills.
