Career Readiness Assessment
Our time-proven Career Readiness Assessment goes beyond traditional evaluations. While most assessments measure existing knowledge, personality traits, or interests, this assessment looks deeper—identifying the capabilities that consistently distinguish high performers.
These include:
-
Attention to detail
-
Problem solving using newly acquired knowledge
-
Abstract reasoning
-
Adaptability when facing unfamiliar challenges
-
Perseverance when working through difficult tasks
Rather than focusing on what someone already knows, the assessment reveals how a person learns, thinks, and performs when confronted with new challenges.
Who Uses the Assessment
The assessment is used in a variety of settings, including:
Individuals who want to explore logic-driven problem solving and discover whether a new career path may be right for them.
Career counselors and workforce professionals who want better tools to help their clients succeed in training programs and transition into careers they will enjoy and sustain.
What is the NCLab Career Readiness Assessment?
The Career Readiness Assessment is a task-based, learn-and-apply experience. Participants actively work through challenges in an interactive environment, allowing the assessment to observe how they approach new problems and unfamiliar tasks.
Unlike traditional assessments:
-
It is not a questionnaire
-
It does not test prior knowledge
-
It does not include math
The only prerequisites are:
-
Basic reading ability in English or Spanish
-
Basic keyboarding skills
Because of this design, virtually anyone can take the assessment.
By focusing on real performance rather than past experience, the assessment provides a more objective and meaningful indicator of an individual’s potential to succeed in modern training programs and workplace environments.
Individuals who complete the assessment receive a digital badge recognizing their achievement and demonstrating their readiness to engage successfully in workplace tasks and career training programs.
Research and Long-Term Use
The Career Readiness Assessment has been used at NCLab for more than a decade to determine whether individuals have the aptitude to learn quickly, adapt to new challenges, and perform well in rigorous training programs.
Over time, the results have been carefully observed and studied. The assessment has proven to be highly relevant in identifying individuals who are most likely to succeed in technical career training programs.
Notably, nearly 100% of individuals who achieve high scores on the assessment and subsequently enroll in NCLab’s Data Analyst, Python Programmer, or Automation Technician career training programs successfully complete their training and move on to high-growth careers.
Predictive Validity
Performance on the Career Readiness Assessment is strongly linked to an individual’s likelihood of succeeding in rigorous training programs and thriving in high-demand workplace environments.
A strong score signals that the participant possesses the core capabilities—learning ability, problem solving, adaptability, and perseverance—required to succeed in modern careers.
