What is the NCLab Career Readiness Assessment?

The Career Readiness Assessment is a task-based, learn-and-apply experience. Participants actively work through challenges in an interactive environment, allowing the assessment to observe how they approach new problems and unfamiliar tasks.

Unlike traditional assessments:

• It is not a questionnaire

• It does not test prior knowledge

• It does not include math

The only prerequisites are:

• Basic reading ability in English or Spanish

• Basic keyboarding skills

Because of this design, virtually anyone can take the assessment.

By focusing on real performance rather than past experience, the assessment provides a more objective and meaningful indicator of an individual’s potential to succeed in modern training programs and workplace environments.

Individuals who complete the assessment receive a digital badge recognizing their achievement and demonstrating their readiness to engage successfully in workplace tasks and career training programs.

The Career Readiness Assessment has been used at NCLab for more than a decade to determine whether individuals have the aptitude to learn quickly, adapt to new challenges, and perform well in rigorous training programs.

Over time, the results have been carefully observed and studied. The assessment has proven to be highly relevant in identifying individuals who are most likely to succeed in technical career training programs.

Notably, nearly 100% of individuals who achieve high scores on the assessment and subsequently enroll in NCLab’s Data Analyst, Python Programmer, or Automation Technician career training programs successfully complete their training and move on to high-growth careers.
