It’s a known fact that there is a serious shortage of people who are job-ready to work in manufacturing, at a time when Nevada manufacturing is booming. People with limited growth and earning potential in other fields would love to step up into these manufacturing jobs but don’t possess the hard and soft skills that you need them to have.
This is where NCLab and SANDI are working together to help you. We’ve put together an initiative to find people in Nevada who want to step up into growth-oriented 21st century manufacturing careers and our Computational On-Ramp training program, which is paid for by the SANDI grant, makes them manufacturing job-ready.
This training program provides trainees the must-have skills to join your world.
Hard skills include workplace math, working with data, computer programming, and 3D spatial skills. Soft skills include professional communication, time management, critical and logical thinking, problem solving, perseverance, and adaptability, among others.
Candidates for the training are fully vetted with a 2-hour assessment that measures their ability to learn and apply new knowledge. Enrollees need approximately 160 hands-on hours to complete this program. The actual time taken to complete the training varies, depending on how many hours their schedules allow them to allocate to their training, but because the training is self-paced, they never miss training lessons because of family and work responsibilities.
Upon completing this training, trainees have acquired the automation hard and soft skills needed to be highly productive manufacturing workers.
